Heath VF-1 VFO Articles

The Heath VF-1 is a very stable and well-built VFO.  As is typical of tube-based VFO’s, it requires a period of time to stabilize after turn-on, but then provides excellent performance.
There are some tricks available to stabilize it earlier, such as leaving a 6 watt bulb burning in it at all times, putting it on a timer, etc.
It outputs about one watt and can even be used as a QRP transmitter if the output is run through a suitable tuner.

This page includes links to basic information about the unit, some improvements and other information.
